..at a 1/15th of a second..

..1/15 of a second seems like the blink of an eye to most people. when holding a hasselblad c/m500 loaded with iso80 film it becomes much longer than that. but it fit the situation at the end of our shooting absolutely perfectly. the slow focus, cosima's slow movements, the music, and - finally - the beautiful sound of the mirror slap and shutter of an old camera..

Time was running out in the Downtown Loft Studio but the last minutes were spent well with good music, white linen and a comfortable mattress..

It was within these last minutes of our shooting that all pressure fell off like a dry leaf on a windy day in fall. Just music, late afternoon light, a model that was a bit tired from the night before and a photographer who loves taking pictures.

Manual focus gives me a kind of inner peace while framing, even at open aperture..

moin moin & hello!

my name is magnus, living in cologne, germany and loving photography.

working as a radiologist by trade monochrome imaging is a huge part of my life. to get more creative i try to be a people and portrait photographer with the little time i have left.

i'm a sucker for black and white portraits although color work can be outstanding.

using digital and analog cameras, from 35mm to large format.
